Cleaned the carbs and when I reinstalled there was no fuel coming through the carbs. I know the float bowls were filled with fuel but when I twisted the throttle and looked into the intakes (air box not installed) there was no fuel squirting up anywhere from any carb. I'm new to carbs but I would think I should see some fuel squirting up when twisting the throttle. What is the likely cause of this? I'm thinking maybe the floats were not set properly but wondering if anything else could be the culprit before I give it another shot.

I sprayed starting fluid in the intakes and it did fire up briefly but then died because of no fuel.

There is no accelerator pump on the Mikuni BS36 CV carbs. You will not see any fuel pumping into the carbs when opening the throttle.

ok thanks, so this is a newbie question then, when I am trying to start the bike how does fuel get into the cylinder? I know my issue is fuel because I shot starting fluid into each cylinder and it fired for a few seconds. So my issue is I'm not getting fuel. Pretty sure the carbs are cleaned very well so looking for any help here to see what I got wrong.

There is a little tube that sticks out the bottom of the carb and into a passage in the bowl.  At bottom of that passage there is a tiny orifice that fuel is supposed to flow through.  It goes up through the tube and into the enrichening circuit.  Nearly impossible to get that orifice cleared out.  I ended up with another set of carb bodies.

Also there is cleaned very well and there is all the way clean.  Took me 4-5 tries to get from cleaned very well to all the way clean.  You have to take everything apart.  The other big suspect would be the idle jets.  They have really small passages.

Thanks, I took the carbs off and will go through them again and check these passages again. Eventually I plan to send the carbs to RPM but I'm just trying to make sure the bike is viable before spending legit money on it.
