Hi all.

Ready one for you I hope! I was taking the seat cowl off my 3XW and managed to turn the rear mounting bolt the wrong way and tightened it Ingatestone if loosening it. I'm an idiot! Now it just free turns. I don't want to drill it out as I'll do more harm than good, so anyone got any ideas before I shame facedly take it to my mechanic?

Thanks

Phil

Depending on your skill-set you could use a helicoil to repair the threads.  It will require drilling and tapping the hole then inserting a "spring" which act as threads for the new fastener.

Good luck,
John S.

Can also use time-sert as a thread replacement device.  A little easier in my opinion.
