Hi guys,
Been perusing most of the forum discussions the past month or so and there's just so much information. It's deadly though because the ideas all cost money at some stage or another. But man, are there some good ideas.
A quick question on the similarity / differences between the FJ1100 and FJ1200 fuel sender units. They have different part numbers but on the CSMNL diagrams they physically look the same.
FJ 1100 is a 36Y8575202 and the 1200 36Y8575203

Thanks

Yes, the fuel sending units are the same. When you go to the specific part you will see a "related fitment" section where the other year and model bikes will be listed.

FYI  I have a post where I walk you through the process.

Gamut, those part numbers are basically the same, the later one is a supercede to the earlier one. With Yamaha part numbers, if there is a revision to the part, the last digit is the revision level. The P/N for the 1100's is rev. 2, the 1200's are rev. 3. I have worked at several motorcycle shops, 5 dealerships (2 had Yamaha).

Thanks very much Pat. Mate has got the 1200 unit and wasn't too sure if it'll work my 1100.
