I just got a 95 GSXR1100 rear wheel to replace it with a 17 inch one, but was this the wrong choice? Are there any models that cannot be used?

I bought what was supposed to be an 1100 wheel. And got a 600 wheel. The spacers are different. Just have to figure out what they have to be. To center the wheel. And then have to get the front sprocket that is offset to line up the chain.
For a second bike the fj1350r.  I ordered what was said to be a gsxr750 wheel and again received a 600.
But I had already figured out the spacers and sprockets. So was much easier. The only visual difference between the 600 and the rest is the sprocket has  5 bolts holding it on. And 1100/750 have 6 bolts. The gsxr guys would swap to the 600 because it was slightly lighter.  The 600 has less choices for sprocket no.of tooth...
So you can use pretty much use any wheel. But you have to figure out the spacers and sprockets. The 750s and 1100's are supposed to be the same.
It really sucked because I tried the setup for the 1100 first and nothing was lining up. Then I had to figure out what wheel I actually had. Before I could figure out the rest.
