I have a 92. Is it possible to get lower clip on handlebars? I would like to lower it to half the height the oe is. Are the 1100  bars or earlier 1200 bars lower since it used to be a sport bike before it became a sport tourer?

The early FJ's 1984 thru 1987 share the same part # on the handle bars and the later 1988 thru 1995 also share the same handle bars.
I don't think that there is much of a difference in the height between the years...others can check me on this fact.

3 options that I'm aware:
1) There are aftermarket clip on bars you can try, they fit above or below the top clamp. They have a lot of adjustability You want them to fit a 41mm fork tube. I'm going by memory but I seem to recall the aftermarket clip on's had some clearance problems with the fairing and tank.

Fred, Dan and Chris... do you guys remember more on the aftermarket clip on's for FJ's? I think Fred or Dan use these on their GSXR USD fork conversions.

2) If you want lower oem bars you can always cut and (carefully) weld them...emphasis on carefully.

3) Convert the top triple clamp to handle bar clamps and then run a straight bar.

Cheers.  Pat

I think cutting and welding is the best option then. Aftermarket ones will interfere with the fairing. i only want to drop it 1"
