Yesterday was a great day !!!!!!!!

I took the FJ out to a Classic Japanese Motorcycle Day, where it was on display with my local VJMC Section (Heat of England). Unusually, there were a couple of other FJ's there too (as well as a couple of hundred other Classic/Vintage Japanese bikes, my friend Chris Rivett's gorgeous, recently restored (to as-new condition) FJ 1100 and a first time seeing  it for me, home sprayed after a crash, yellow 3CV, which put us all to shame mileage-wise, with 221,000 miles on it.

Despite being absolutely soaked riding there in torrential rain first thing in the morning, and a couple of showers throughout the day, the enthusiasm of owners couldn't be dampened. The rain meant that the day got off to a slow start with attendees, but the organisers were shocked at the number of bikes that turned up overall  (they reported around 600 over the 5 hours from 10am to 3pm), especially given the weather, but the quality of some of the bikes that were ridden there in the rain was exceptional.

I took well over 100 photos, but have only posted a few here to give a flavour of the day.

Oh my what a nice report   :good: many things to comment here .
The rainstorm was maby the same named Hans that was over here in Norway.it has created alot of flodding and
damage to the roads and infrastructure here I got a red blinking warning triangle on my phone and it was making a high strange alarm sound saying stay home heavy raistorm coming.Never had an alarm on the phone before

First the white and blue fj 1100 i had exactly the same bike almost new it was stolen one week after i traded it for a ford escort xr3i .One difference i see is that
my bike had a seatstrap and the talilight had orange reflectors on the sides also had orange reflectors under
the front fairing. The seller told me it was a imported from belgium. I have tried to find one in that colorcheme
again, but the few i found has been to damaged and busted to bother restoring.Second gear broke on mine and had a road racing mechanic to fix it because yamaha wanted 10 millions to fix it

That orange brown kawa z1 900 with mikuni flatslides must be worth well over 25000 usd  if it is 72 or 73 .My newly 1976 kawa kz900A4 is not so rare and worth less. The blue  Kawa i think is a z1B it is also rare and valuble there is one advertised here in norway for 22500

The suzuki 750 waterbuffalos is fantastic i want one !!
The blue gl1000 with helmet hanging on handlebar is also cool .I almost bought one just over a week ago right before i found the kawa .That one was original 1975 with spoked wheels seller was asking 5700 for it .but that was too high because i saw 3 other good looking gl1000 advertised priced around 4000 usd but they was not in the blue color i want like the one in the picture

Thanks for sharing !! You should make a book with pictures of vintage bikes seeing all those bikes on those meetings!

It's amazing how so many of us have memories and experiences of these very same bikes.

I'm also constantly amazed by the number of these old bikes that are still being regularly used and in great condition on our roads here.

This has been a fantastic summer for me discovering new friends on old bikes.

I have been wondering how to keep and present allof the photos I've taken of wonderful bikes recently. I think you may be right in that a book/booklet might be the best way.

I'm also thoroughly enjoying being an active member of the VJMC and the reception my bike receives across the club  :good2:
