That is a VERY good question!  That is the JC Whitney case and mount right?  Did you just drill it to the plastic?  Make a support underneath? (I'm sure you did)  How sturdy is your mount?  I TOO would like to see it...knowing how inventive you are and all...    :)

I'm happy with my customized GIVI single topcase mount...but I'm always open to new ideas!!!  (especially nice UBER clean mounts like yours...)

TRoy

Yes it is a givi knockoff box, fixed mounting (3  8mm bolts).Mounts to the grab handles and to the rearmost subframe crossmember.

Heavy 1/4" metal plate under the box, cutting board inside the box. Plastic standoff tube thingys hold it up. It is very sturdy! :sarcastic:

Pics are self-explanatory~

I like my new rear lights, too. Made a bracket that goes under the license plate to mount some R1 turn signals w/running lights.

Well after some serious mileage back on the stock subframe I can say that I will:

a) be putting the SS subframe back on very soon

b) make  brackets to raise the stock subframe up like the single-seater

.. those extra 2 inches seat-to-peg make a HUGE difference!!  I was experiencing pain in the knees, hips & back that I hadn't had in years!

Next up... Super-Stubby-Streetfighter??

Really love the look of this bike! Great work!!

I was wondering how you were able to fabricate a single seat. I would modify my own FJ and shorten the subframe to make it a single seater as well. Would appreciate any guidance.

Google FJ1200 shorten seat and similar, you will find several have been done, including the write-up for this bike.

Seats shortened by cutting a section out of the base and glue/welding it back together.

If you find the posts, you'll see how others have done it.
