Its the salt on the road here that im afraid of
While the temp is fine (5-10c) the roads are white with salt as the temp keeps dipping below zero at night.
That salt will turn an fj into a corroded and rusting mess faster than you would believe
The roads are normally clear of it by mid to late march.
Ill try to have my suspension mods all sorted by then.

Stainless lines
Blue spot calipers but std m/cyl (so far)
Ebc prolite front discs
Ohlins remote adj rear shock

Still running original chain and sprockets from new (scotoilers really work)

:Facepalm:I went out and did around 150 miles around the Cotswolds on my FJ today, with a few pals - filthy, muddy, wet roads, but it didn't rain. Also found a great new place for a coffee and snack - a "boutique" bike shop and cafe (Koti Autotalli) in Chipping Camden.

My FJ ended up filthy, so as soon as I came home I went into the garage to get my cleaning gear out. Unfortunately, as I opened the (up and over) garage door, one of its top mountings failed and the metal (double width) garage door fell on my head.
Luckily, I'd taken off my expensive Arai crash helmet before I opened the garage door.....so it didn't get scratched    :good2: Phew!!!! . Mind you, I've got a bit of a headache right now  :sarcastic:

The bike is now cleaned, dried, lubed & polished. The garage door has been secured in the closed position and a friend "in the industry" is sorting me a new one.

Thanks Doug,

No lasting physical damage, but my wallet is now £3.5k lighter because of the new garage door that's being installed (all-singing, all-dancing, high security, alarmed). Luckily I have friends in the business, so got it for roughly 1/2 of what near-neighbour recently paid for an almost identical one, so that's made it slightly less painful. Liz said that I need to spend a LOT of time in the garage now, to make it worthwhile  :sarcastic:
