Has anybody tried to remove the emissions canisters from a US California model? I have an 85 fj1100 and I think after 36 years they can go to the trash. The question is do I just disconnect them and plug the holes in the carburetors?

You certainly can just cap off the vacuum port. Can also remove all associated lines, canister and hardware to free up some space and make things tidy. Just make sure you have no vacuum leaks.

That's what I thought. Thanks, I will try that.
