I recently did an 8 day Moto-Camping trip with my Daughter on one of my Non-FJ bikes. While I was out riding Casper was having the carbs worked on by Dale Sharp (Shaarth). I picked up the bike the other day and WOW what a difference. Now I think Casper is ready for a Dyno run

I got Casper out for a short Breakfast run this morning.

PS.
I can do a trip report of my Father/Daughter Moto-Camping trip. It was done on the 2008 VFR800 though. A couple of Teaser photos of the trip.

What did Dale do to your carbs?

Thanks Robert, Yes, I remember now. That was the largest Fred could go without machining the case.

What did Dale do to your carbs?

I had the original 1990 carbs on Casper with the jetting sized for the 1297cc motor. I tried to make adjustments, but could not get a stumble to go away. I took Casper to Dale along with the RPM carb bank that was originally set up for the 1297cc motor, but had sat unused for 5 years. Dale disassembled the RPM carbs and with information from RPM got everything sorted out.

Fred your a lucky man. Having a daughter who wants to do kool stuff with her dad. Glad Casper is getting sorted out.

Do you still have the V Max. My neighbor kitty corner to my back yard came to introduce himself to me today. Asking if I might help him with a mint 82 650 maxim. 6200mi. Given to him by a coworker. Everything but a spark. He said a friend just offered him his 6 bike collection for $5000. One was a 72 cb 350 with 2000 miles on it. The other one that caught my attention. Was a V Max. He says they are all just about mint. Just haven't been run in years.  I told him I would be interested in the V Max.  But I couldn't afford to give him anything for  it until next year.  He said " Just take it and put it in your garage right away. And get it running. And you can pay me when you get the money". I sure hope he decides to buy them.

Sorry on the delay to answer about the Vmax.

I no longer have the bike. Unlike what you have described... this was not a mint condition version. The carbs needed serious work and are not user friendly. And there were alot of small issues that caused me to loose interest. The bike ended up in Seam Morley's hands.... he is to the Vmax what Randy is to the FJ.
