it's long gone from my 86.
Is this the proper kit for it?

Looks like my '89 toolkit.  If you go to Babbitts online or other OEM seller's site you can get the list of what's in a stock kit.

Not sure why you're nervous - in 36 years and over 125,000 miles on my FJ's, I've yet to need my toolkit at the roadside (hoping I haven't now jinxed myself!!)......used it plenty in the garage though  :sarcastic:

The guy I bought my bike from literally didn't know if there was a tool kit in it. He had rode from Missouri to ride the tail of the dragon, a ride I wouldn't have considered without the tool kit. After I told him where they should be, he said they were there. He really didn't work on bikes, and sold the FJ to me when he started having problems getting it fixed-there were no mechanics that could work on carbs at the shop he used, at the end of his ownership. He bought a new Suzuki, and is likely in a better place for him.
I have much better tools in the shop, and the kit is not used there, ever. But, the tools are on the bike, always. Hoping you don't need them is not a plan.
