Fj1100 R1 suspension conversion??

Ok guys, so a couple months back I picked up an 2000 first gen r1 parts bike for 400 bucks! I harvested what I needed off the bike and sold off what I didnt, still ended up seeing 500 bucks out of the bare engine and frame!  I'll post some pics here soon.
I've had this 85 1100 for a while and the suspensions shot, and it needs tires, brakes, ect. It runs great I wanna get some flat slide carbs for it! Anyone ever ran nitrous ???
Since I got the entire r1 suspension wheels brakes I figured I might as well do the swap I know it's been done before but I cant find many good write ups for the r1 swaps. I'd like to use the stock r1 rear shock, r1 clamps forks, ect

Doable - yes, without fabrication - no. 

If you want to keep the mechanical speedo drive you need the front wheel from a YZF 1000 ThunderAce.  If you aren't worried about that then use the R1 front wheel.

You want to use the FJ stem, but it's a loose fit in the R1 lower triple clamp.  A few different possible solutions to that - you'll need to find one you are comfortable with.  Having a new stem fabricated with the hybrid dimensions is one option. 

Not sure what it would take to make the 1st gen R1 swingarm work - there's been a couple different R1 swingarms documented on here.  To use the R1 shock and spring you will need to figure out what ratios you need from your suspension linkage so the soft R1 spring has enough leverage to handle the suspension loads.   Then you will need to increase your damping to suit.

Josh Vesey has just completed his project of fitting R1 front and rear suspension systems onto his 3CV.

I've put a link to his posts about it below, where you'll get some of the conversion detail for fitting the front, but nothing for the R1 rear, which was a later addition. Although he hasn't posted on here for quite a while, Josh is active on the FB FJ forums, so maybe try to contact him through FB. He has only just finished his project in the last couple of weeks, so all of the info should still be fresh in his mind. It wasn't a simple/project, but as you have all of the hardware, essentially cost-free so far, it's got to be worth a go.

It looks pretty straight forward I'll have to think about it. I might go a different route and go straight to a drag bike build

This is my conversion, not R1 upfront that's exup but all the rear is, take a look.

Search for    "FJ1200 with a bit of Exup ru and a bit of R1 big bang"
It's about as useful as a chocolate fire guard
