Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the wording and numbers mean on the underside of the piston.
Mine has:
ART, YAMAHA, 3 with What looks like an upside T above it
1TX00
Thanx Bill.

Thank you for the help.
Now I'm not sure what I have as the bike is a 95 FJ1200.
Thanx again.

87 was the first year the piston was redesigned to increase the displacement to 1200 (1188 cc actual).  So the pistons get "tagged" with the 1TX part number.

If Yamaha doesn't change a part's design even when used on a new model, it usually retains the part number of the earlier model.  In other words - nothing hinky at all with your engine - no worries!

Thank you so much for the info it's greatly appreciated.
