Noise coming from Engine, sounds like the chain?

So I got off the highway yesterday, and driving a steady 35mph it sounded like the chain was rattling inside the engine, same if I gave it some juice, but not if I let off the gas.  When I bought the bike, the mechanic showed me how to tighten the chain and everything, but never actually told me how much play there should be.   :unknown: So, yeah, I don't want to over tighten it, there's probably about 2" of play, but I'll get exact when I go home today.

Also, if you think it might be something else making the noise, feel free to input.  :drinks:

2" sounds a little loose, but they are known for making a bit of noise from the starter chain.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

how do you know these things Travis, :sarcastic: tell him how lose it can go
It does sound like a good reason to come do a pre ride with us, we can all wonder together. Honestly we'll figure it out.
