Copied this from the Moto Guzzi UK club:

I am sure that many of you will already have thought about the issue I want to raise here, but at the risk of being a kill joy please give it consideration.

Bearing in mind the pressure the NHS National Health Service) is under at the moment and particularly critical care; I have decided not to do any leisure riding for the time being.
I have made this decision for several reasons:
Firstly: it seems to me that, if I had an accident that could have been avoided by staying at home, then I would be taking up resources and possibly an ITU bed that could be needed by someone else through no fault of their own.
Secondly: I do wonder what priority I would be if I had an accident and my journey wasn't essential at the moment, I wouldn't want to put the professionals or my family through that decision making process.

I understand that some people need to ride for work or to get to work, I was the same, but I am referring to 'going out for a ride'.

My wife, the sensible one, has talked me out of anything longer than a test-ride around the block after putting a clutch in the 998 last week. Now would be a particularly selfish time to take up a soon-to-be-scarce hospital bed, and a particularly dangerous time to be among all the other people who will also need hospital beds.

There will be a time and a place for "going out for a ride." I am not sure now is the time.

Good luck, man.

Thanks for putting others before yourself. I have been wanting to take both of my FJ's out, but have thought better of it.
Kind of reminds me of when I got in trouble when I was younger... Restiction  :bad:
