I picked up a 2015 FJR, I would call the color charcoal gray. 17K miles excellent condition. It was a bit of an impulse buy, but have been keeping one eye open for a "newer" bike, for about 20 years. After being down with the flu for a few days, I was getting stir crazy and joined my wife to go to junk sale. It happened to be next to a large bike dealer, so I went in to get some gloves.  I was concerned if I would like the the ride..., taller, heavier, not an FJ...I've been riding the same bike since 86. I became comfortable aboard this bike right away. I am now back to commuting daily, rode it first day yesterday. It was a nice ride. It is a bit taller than the FJ. Being a munchkin, I'm considering to install lowering links. This will make at stop mode a little more reassuring. Maybe after some more miles I'll feel differently. Lowering does change the dynamics some, not to mention bottoming out on a speed bump, and steep lean becomes something to watch far. Me steep lean, yeah right.
For now I do intend on keeping the FJ. The second bike takes away one more excuse for not proceeding with some work I want to do on the FJ. I love that bike. But Mark, there's is only room for one garage queen. It was really strange to move the FJ to the back yard. I promised I would get a cover for her today :sorry: .

The bike looks very clean. Liquid cooling=go anywhere....no worries from traffic jams etc. Plenty of storage too. Maybe time to build a shed for the other FJ. :good2:

A shed is warranted. Old bike home...Ha I'm almost ready for one myself.

Park your cars in the driveway and park your bikes in the garage, easy peesey.
If Tina objects to having her car parked outside on the driveway, buy her some flowers, a coupon book for some full service car washes, then politely inform her that __________***
After 33 years of loyal companionship (I know you love your FJ) It would break my heart to see her relegated to the back yard living under a tarp.

Folks who have gone the Super Sonic Sofa route, have given good reports on changing the oem FJR shock to an aftermarket unit.
Love to hear your impressions as you get used to the FJR.

Sure would like to know what goes in that blank. Aren't you the one that hid the Fj at a friends house for period so the old lady wouldn't know about it? Hmm you did hide it a garage though. Haven't had the bike in week and Pats putting mods in my head. Curse you!
I will try to work something out in the garage. I doubt she'll give it up unless I'm building something for the house  I'll drag the table saw out today and "start something".

Mike...  If you need a garage to store your BEAUTIFUL '86 in, bring it on up to Oregon...  I'll even keep it on a trickle charger and ride it occasionally for you.  When you tire of the SSS, the old FJ will be waiting for you.

Now that's a real buddy right there!

Palm Desert's only 1.5 hours away and the dry climate means no condensation in your tank....just saying...

Your '86 is a beautiful bike.
