My clutch slave dumped it's guts a while ago.

Tore it down, seals looked reasonably sound but the bore and piston looked pretty pitted.

Cleaned it all up and put it back together. Went just over a week with no leaks.

Today, when fitting he slave back on the cover (after repainting the cover) I noticed a drop of fluid on my finger.

Yup, leaking a gain.

So now I'm trying to decide between trying new seals and another round of scotchbrite or just replacing the slave.

Big price difference between each option.....

I gave up on the old worn one after a couple rebuilds, bought a new one, NO issues now.

I went through what you are going through a while back, I messed with it for weeks.... seals etc etc to no avail. I got a used slave off ebay and got lucky still workes fine.

$100 for 30+ years of service. A bit over $3 a year for a new one.

Rebuild kits $21 last a year or two, $10.50-$21 a year. (Maybe lasts longer)

The math checks out on this one. Best to buy new.
