Hi Folks,
It's been a while since I've been on the forum. I discovered today that one of the valve cover bolts on my sons 1100 is broken off in the cam holder. We were in the process of replacing the grommets on the bolts when we discovered it. If I remove the cam holder to get the broken end out what, how big a can o' worms am I opening.

None.

You might want to rotate the engine to the position to remove the cams first.  I believe that the compression stroke (TDC) on cylinder #1

Just torque it back when you're finished.

As David said, no issues removing the cam cap.

Since you are only removing one cap, I recommend turning that specific caps lobes to be directly away from the valves. That ensures there is no pressure pushing up against the cap you are trying to remove.

Then, you should be able to thread it right out from the bottom

Well thats good news. Thank you both.
