Filter plug in breather hose?

Hey folks, I've been meaning to ask, when I re-jetted my carbs on my '84 (w/stock air box)  I did not properly reconnect my breather tube to the airbox elbow....I discovered this on a check out ride, what a friggin mess, oil everywhere.
When I cleaned up the bike I found what looks like a fiber filter plug laying on my engine case.

Question: Did this come out (or blow out) of the breather tube? Possibly used to reduce oil in the blow by?
I don't see this little goodie listed in the Yamaha microfiche...
I have a fair amount of blow by on my 120k mile motor, so in my effort to keep my carbs clean I've converted over to a K&N crankcase breather.

Thanks amigos!   How many days until the WCR?

Hey Pat,
I've had a look at the parts on my workbench
on which lies the entirety of an 84 1100,
and I see no fibre filter/plug in the pile of exterior crankcase bits.
That being said I have used scouring sponges as blow by filters.
You know that green plastic fibre mesh that is used
to scrub the burnt shit off pots and pans.
Hope that helps

Thanks dog, (sorry mate, I can't recall your name) The filter plug would be inside the breather tube if it were there at all.  Pat

No worries Pat,
If you are referring to this hose,
then there is nothing inside.

Cheers,
Mark
