Jay Leno has a turbine-powered motorcycle.  He said on camera that once while waiting at a red light,
the turbine exhaust from his bike melted the plastic front end of the car stopped behind him.
Also, it runs eight minutes on a gallon of fuel.

I love turbines 

Economy would be crap, but you can run them on almost anything that is liquid and has a flash point. There was even an experiment to feed coal dust to a turbine. It worked, just not very 'clean' .
