1985 pod filters

Hello all,
I am planning on putting individual pod filters on my 1985 fj. It has f1r slip on mufflers on it. Is there anyone
who can give advice on where to start with rejetting ? Main jets, pilot jets, needle number and clip location ?
I live in ohio if that makes a difference. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Individual pod filters are not legal in OH, you have to use the UNI dual pods.

Ok, not really, but the UNI filters do a better job of filtering based on my personal experience. As far as jetting goes, try a Google search that includes fjowners.com. You will find more answers and some will be useful.

If you go with oiled foam "Dual pods" like Randy sells, my carb setup on my '91 FJ1200 is:

MJ 115  , Carb needle clip to center groove.

I'm using Pipeline slip-ons (similar to F1R's). 
This should get you close.  You may need to go up or down a bit for your setup.

Try the filters first and see how it runs and then go from there as every bike will react differently. When I first put Randys uni pods on the bike it still seemed to run ok, no flat spots or anything, but just felt the acceleration from low revs wasn't as snappy as before, so dropped the clip one notch on the needle and that seemed to fix it. Ran it with the standard 110 main jets for a while and it ran well but recently fitted 120 main jets for that bit extra up top.
