Hi,

I just found this board via FJ owner's group on Yahoo. I have to admit, I like the set-up of this one much better. Not to dis the yahoo group, of course, there are some smart and nice guys on there. This one is just easier to search categories, etc. And, being from Texas, I do like guns, too.

I bought my first FJ in 1991 in Minneapolis, MN. I'm now on my 6th FJ, an '89 black and gold coming up on 50,000 miles. I have a gallery of my series of FJ's on the Yahoo board, I'll post it here soon as my niece gets back from Spring Break with the laptop w/ my photos on it.

Speaking of 50,000 miles, that's about what I have on FJ's so far, averaged about 10,000 miles on each, never laid one down. (But came too damn close too damn many times.)  Been from Minneapolis to South Padre Island and back a couple of times, once with my best friend riding the FJ 1100 I gave him when I bought my first 1200. That was a good memory. I've had a souped-up 1200 up to about 165 mph on a flat, straight stretch of highway 77 in South Texas. Glad I missed those birds!

I love the FJ - to me, it is the perfect bike. Economical high speed comfort, a piece of history that still has style. The '91 white/silver has always been my favorite color scheme, though I did have a custom painted one that looked pretty fookin' cool. I'll post the pictures soon.

I AM looking for a gas tank and good rear shock for my current '91, and maybe some pipes if the price is really right. I've had contact from 1 FJ owner in Austin from the Yahoo board, but anybody else in Texas, drop me a line at ntnahed@yahoo.com  See ya out there!

Russ the stunter!  Yeah!!   :good2:   Good to have you on board!  You've owned more FJs than most of us I think...I'm sure you will be a valuable resource here!

I've owned a few, never enough, got my miles on 'em, but I am pretty green in the mechanical department - I'm sure most of the guys on this board know more about mechanics than me. All the bikes I had before, I was rich and smart enough to have pros work on. I aint quite so rich these days, but I got the Clymer's manual, and I am serious about getting 100K miles out of this one, unless the economy picks up, and I get another. Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the excellent board!
