I found one or two old threads about grips, but nothing that really helped.  What grips do most people use on the FJ?  I read everything from cheap Ebay ($6) to authentic Yamaha ones ($40 plus).

What do you use or suggest?  I have rather large hands, attached to a 6' 6" frame, so wimpy little grips aren't going to cut it.  :nea:

i like the pro grip gels-i've had good service out of them-they are 125mm not 135mm which is stock on the fj

Scooterbob

So they are a little shorter than stock.  Is that going to look hokey? :wacko1:

Progrip 724's on my FJ and on my 9.  Works well for me.  A pinch shorter than stock, but you can move the switchgear out slightly if it bothers you much.  Or, if you don't have a throttle lock, it'd be a good time to install one, and that will take up some of the space.

i have a throttle lock so it takes up the space on the throttle side

I already have a throttle lock installed too, so that should be okay.

I just placed an order for the black ones. Cost me about $16 shipped.  I was already looking at that style, but didn't see that model until now.  Thanks for the recommendations.   :good:

Wear your gear.

Hot grips are currently out of my budget right now. It hardly gets cold enough in Houston to need them anyhow.  :pardon:
maybe later down the road, but definitely not before this summer is over.
