Hi everyone... 2 upping with my girlfriend... 10-13 day adventure.

August 2017,  departing Vancouver coast highway to napa, then mammoth lakes, Death Valley, vegas, north rim Grand Canyon then Zion.  Multiple 2 day stops, 500km a day only. Secondary roads mostly.

Question is, how to get back?  Thru Nevada to Oregon then Washington. ....
Or
Straight north up to salt lake,  Idaho up to Spokane etc...

I'm concerned about temperatures and place to stay on the way home.  We will stay on secondary roads and avoide 80 mile hr highway travel as there is little fun in that.

The way there is all sorted hotels booked.  It's the way home that need some help.

Any advice on stoping points would be great and routes.

Thanks
Scott

I'd opt for the Nevada, Oregon, and Washington route.

If your taking the '88 FJ, I gotta ask why, when you have a 2016 FJR in your fleet. Seems like a way better mount for your trip. Especially two-up.

Sound like you are going spend most of your time going down. Hwy 395 through Oregon and California is a pretty nice route to come back on. If you can get a stop in Virginia City, Nv. It's kind of cool to check out.

Vegas and Death Valley are going to be 100 to 110 degrees in Augest and most your trip will be in the 90's.

This is a forum for FJ1100 and FJ1200s, and you show that you're an owner of an '88 FJ1200, and a 2016 FJR. Can't fault you for taking the FJR.

Enjoy your trip.
