I just had muy front tire replaced and had the shop press in a new set of bearing and seals.   After getting the tire back, I went to remount it and it won't fit.   The speedometer is firmly against the driver's side of the hub,  but the collar doesn't appear to be firmly seated on the passenger's side and won't go in any deeper (see attached pics).  Looking inside the hub, there doesn't appear to be any more room for it to go to.   I gave the shop the All Ballz set specifically for my bike; has anyone else had this happen?

That looks about right. I just measured my '86 wheel and got just under 7MM (6.96) to the bearing seal so it is not exact. Check the other side.

Edit: It sticks out a bit on my '89 as well.

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

The spacer is correctly positioned. Be sure that speedo gear is seated in the notches in the hub and between the notches on the lower tube of the left front fork leg.
Also, be sure that you are not pushing the front axle from the wrong side. I tried that once and was wandering why it won't go in.  :dash1: It goes in from left to right. All orientations in this post are the ones from the driver's point of view, i.e. when you sit on the bike.
