I have a problem fitting the header pipes back on.

Put everything back together today, sober. Forgot to order exhaust gaskets, so I have an exhaust leak. But I put an oil filter conversion in from rpm racing. Oil is good now. Running amsoil now. I will need to redo the exhaust again but I got the header pipes sorted out. Thanks for the heads up on that.

I had to run the bike for 20 minutes to burn off all of the oil I spilled on the pipes. I was pretty sure it was going to start on fire. It was smoking pretty good.

I bought this bike as something to ride this summer. I have a 1979 GS1000 that needs a complete rebuild as a gasket is leaking oil into cylinder 3. I was going to buy a big bore kit for 2 grand, instead I bought another bike.

The only thing this FJ needs is a carb cleaning. I've never synced carbs before the correct way. My family always used my dad's ear. He used to race bikes at Brainerd international. He had a knack for knowing when things are synced, but he's deaf and pretty useless now. Im joking, he's still plenty good at pointing out when you're doing things wrong.

No..That will just not do.
That nice new shinny bit just stands out way too much. I think (not that it really matters. lol ) you need to polish the covers and give the motor a re spray. Good weekend job.

Mark,
That will be happening soon. We all know the RPM filter adaptor is the gateway drug to all the other manifestations of moditus.

Yes it is. Next it will be Emulators and springs, then blue spots, then rear wheel conversion. Sounds like my bikes biography. Ahhhh. So thats where all my time and money went. lol
