went to yamaha at toronto ...( inskipp yamaha0 and may i just say service was GREAT!!! so i ended up purchasing.... new aftermarket screen 180 bucks, spark plugs oil and filter, new l/h mirror 145 bucks and chain and new sprockets. send the beast in for new tyres next week (bt 45 under 400 bucks) and then new clutch plates ( as they are slipping) and got the steering stem bearins ( 20 bucks each from skf at wallsend).... start as sooon as the screen arrives getting my baby better.......

Prices seem a bit on the high side, but if they're giving you good service, maybe the extra is worth it.
With your slipping clutch, putting a 2nd spring in there will probably cure it.
Get the clutch spring for the FJR1300 - its the same piece but 1/2 the price.
(no, I don't understand it either)

Cheers,
Arnie

yes going to work on it this weekend, actually needed  to speak to you regarding clutch plates... i seem to remeber you saying something about them being cheaper than the chain  ($240), yes the prices were a little steep but asked about a OEM screen and got quoted $340 ex japan 1 in stock, so i got an aftermarket tinted one sight unseen... will post picks once fitted, its a doubleedged sword as i need to replace the dash globes and cant take old screen off ( too cracked) so i bought a new screen and will replace dash globes all at once. going to strip the fairings off and try to foam or rubber mount them to reduce vibration and cracking. :scratch_one-s_head:

fitted screen.... im in love all over again, must say fitting a new chain has made me rethink clutch issues, i should have known that a clapped out chain will cause piss poor fuel economy and the " surgeing" at cruise speeds... you know 70 k an hour and wuuhhh wuuuhh  wouldnt just sit and cruise would lurch etc. mental note to self tho to follow the manual and cut it 110 pins not measure old chain and cut it at 106 pins. :dash2: turns out i got a 38 tooth rear and a standard front... these things i should check i know i know i know i know
