A ride in Drizzle and a New Museum

Went on a 150 mile or so ride this morning with fellow member Dale Sharp (Shaarth). Started out with 50*F and drizzle. The further northeast we went the less it drizzled. Ny the time we arrived at our destination the drizzle had stopped. Where typically you can expect 1000 motorcycles, less than 50 had shown up. Dale is still fine tuning his FJ so he rode his BMW this morning. We took the scenic route back to Wichita and found a new motorcycle museum. The Twisted OZ Motorcycle Museum in Augusta, Kansas. An interesting collection of old motorcycles including a few one of a kind bikes.

I was especially pleased to see a bike among the photos that
I think I recognize!!

Check out the sinister looking black streamliner.  With the "VINCENT"
logo.  I think that's a product of Max Lambky. 

AKA  "Mad Max" ........  AKA "Kansas Bad Man"

I'm sure that I've seen that  'liner.  Both stationary, and haulin' butt down
the Salt.

I go to the Bonneville Salt Flats every year for the motorcycle speed event.
Max is there every year.  He's a "fer shure"  Vincent buff.  He's built several Vincent
powered Bonneville bikes, for several different classes.

I've chatted with him numerous times.  A really nice guy, and very dedicated!!

I must add, over the years he's held several Bonneville records.
