Hi guys, been offered some 3cv wheels in great condition with new discs. Question is , will they fit straight on my bike. I have a 1986 1tx? I understand the 3cv is abs is that the only difference ?

No ABS on 3CV (88/89). The rear will bolt on with no issues and I think the front will as well. If you can get the 3CV forks get them. They allow the use of the Blue/Gold DOT calipers and lose the weight and look of the funky anti-dive forks.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I don't have anti dive forks  the donor bike was
A bit of mix and match I think, I have gold calipers currently. Ive attached a picture. ( the fj was a donor bike )

I would be interested in seeing a close up shot of how the front calipers are mounted up with those wheel installed.

Then you already have the 89+ forks and FJ calipers (not the same as the Blue/Gold DOT). Your new front wheel will not need the adapter plates currently on the bike. It also changes from 16 x 3 to 17 x 3, meaning you have more choices for selecting a good front tire. The back will only change the look of the spokes, same 16 inch wheel size.

It appears that Hath87 basically has the same wheel set up that I had when I purchased my 1989. 3CV forks and calipers with 1TX wheel and rotors.

Looking at his picture, it appears the brake pads were only contacting the outer half of the rotor surface?
Not very safe.

Should be just fine with later wheels and rotors.
