Wow... beautiful photos.  I hope to get up that way someday.  Hey wait... NO chin fairing!  Well, that's one way to avoid stone chips on the plastic...   :good2:

Funny story about the chin fairing- I still have it.  I pulled it off to change the oil before the trip.  Put all the screws back into the frame.  Went for a couple hundred mile ride with FJ1100mjk.  The day before leaving, I went to put the chin fairing back on... and I was missing a screw  :dash2:

I decided to just leave the chin fairing off instead of try and find/fabricate a screw that would work (all the parts stores were closed).

Then I realized that what I needed was not chin fairing but a skid plate!  :good:

Here are some of my photos (off road) from the Central FJ Rally this past June.

Wow, wow and wow. Those are fantastic photos.

Neo, you have just reinforced my point from the other day so much better than I ever could in words. How could you possibly pass up vistas and roads like this in the interest of bike preservation, it's a tool to be used.
This is what my bike is for, to take me everywhere and anywhere I can possibly get it. It expands my enjoyment of it many times over.
Your photos are a great example of using your bike 100%.

I've had my bike stuck on rocks, logs and done much more clutch slipping in first gear than I'm happy with, but the couple of percent of dirt riding makes up the bulk of the great memories and great places my bike has taken me.

Having said that, there's a good chance I do more dirt miles than anyone and I really don't believe my bike has suffered cosmetically as a result of it.

Neo, you have a great eye for photographic composition, how about posting up some more of your trips, I love photos.

Ha, you said it!  Now, I don't want to trash the bike but I am not afraid to get it out and a little dirty.  I was hoping the FJ would be the platform for all kinds of adventure, fun and exploration and it really turned out to be true!  Over the 6k+ miles on that trip, I wanted a bike that could eat up miles, be comfortable in the saddle for hours on end, handle winding roads, high altitudes, hot deserts - basically go ALMOST wherever I wanted to explore.  So far, so good :good2:
