Nice buy, saw that on CL too.  Love that black and gold!  Good thing I already bought one..Ha ha :good:

Haha, I'm sure glad you didn't!

Got it legal and took the maiden voyage last night despite the fog & wet. Enough acceleration to peel your face off.. and I was taking it easy. Can you tell this is my first big bike?  :wacko1:

A few parts and service manual on order. New valve cover gasket is the worst of it so far, that should be easy enough I'm guessing.
The last bike I spent time on is a 1979 kz1000, goes real nice.  FJ Hauls A$$!  Real happy with mine.  I think you'll find it pretty straight forward to work on.  That's one of the reasons I bought mine..

A few hours of research and I could tell the FJ had a strong following, bulletproof engine, straightforward mechanicals and balls for miles. So I was sold. :)

Now I really have to finish my DR350 rebuild, the shed is getting pretty cramped!!

The DR 350 is a tractor of a bike. I ride a DRZ 400 S mostly dirt and its a heavy pig like the FJ but man do they grunt n go.
