Glad to hear all ends up well.

Had the engine spun a rod bearing........ You would not hear a loud tapping or rattle....... It is a very loud knocking and sounds like parts will come flying out of the engine at any time.

Reminds me of the time I had with my'84 1100. I thought, and many others thought, I had severe engine damage going on. Sounded like the cylinder was tapered and the piston skirt was slapping in the cylinder. Cruised by Randy's and first thing he said was it was my pipes. Mine were double lined and the inner was broken and hitting the outer. I would have never found that. What a relief. It's actually why I got the bike for next to nothing. Hehe. It was bitter sweet to let my buddy that sold it to me know it was just the exhaust. Score!
