Hey Mark......your words are for all of us to contemplate.  As I get into my late 40's I appreciate the simpler things more and more.  '

My Dad died 2 weeks ago....he and I used to ride everywhere together...lots of good memories of the old man and time spent.....he taught me everything I know.  My life is huge compared to what his was, and yet somehow I was never satisfied.....always......acquiring....more.....more......like in a trance.  Always buying/horse trading/selling......and Dad was happy to just be in the shop quaffing brews and turning wrenches on a cold winters day.  My heated and a/c concrete floor 75x75 Morton building to him was man cave paradise on earth......I have a 40 foot wall of tool cabinets, full office with bunk beds, stove, fridge, and all the equipment you could possibly need from back when I was single and used to build race cars.......and somehow it never registered with me until he was gone.  I wished I would have spent 10x the time with him out there these past years building and modding stuff....instead, my career was more important, so time was "precious", so I bought everything shiny, new, and ready to go.....instant gratification, but with no quality time spent with Dad or my buddies.

I regret it a lot if you can't tell.

My life is WAY more complex than it needs to be......causes life to blur by much more quickly than slowing down to appreciate the simple things......my lesson learned.

I've been going back-and forth on the full lowers for the last 10 years or so. I haven't noticed any air flow issues issues with the lower fairing mounted, but I don't ride in stop-and-go traffic, either; I can see where this might be a consideration in more congested areas (e.g., not the middle of nowhere, Illinois). I don't remember the manufacturer on the lower; it may have come from the UKFJOC.
