Hi
I recently  bought a  fj 1200 to rebuild
when I got it the cylinder head was of the motor , I wanted to check the barrels/ bores were good but the barrels wont lift completely  , the rear camchain guide seems to be bent at the top and is catching in the hole for the tensioner,
can anyone tell me if the rear guide can be removed and replaced without splitting the engine.
engine is still in the frame
Thanks

Remove the 10mm headed bolt at the center of the case just below back of the cylinder.

You can then pull up on the guide to remove the spring and plunger. Once those are out you can remove the rear guide.
