routing of cables

Hi probably asked numerous times but cant find the answer another way. On an 84 how is the throttle cable routed? There looks to be wear on top of the tube that forms the small triangle ahead of the steering head, though I guess the cables could pass through the triangle or below the triangle even, which one is proper? Thanks Chiz

I'm not sure without removing the tank on one of my FJs, but the appendix of the factory service manual page 7-43 shows cable routing.

OK I knew I had seen diagrams somewhere so went on a hunt and found them in the manual today but in diag 7-43 what looks like throttle cables labeled 4 but they are not described as such.On Diag 7-44 labeled 3 and described as such stop short and viewed from the front... not all that clear, THANKS
