Just got back from  a little jaunt down country. Yep I met Kim Newcombe back in about 1971 at a race meeting when he was still a relative nobody in he mainstream world. He was a genius engineer - you know, the usual sort of kiwi bloke! He was very successful in the 70s before he died.
