Hello Folks

*** Here is the full message**** I accidentally posted a truncated version ****

This past summer while I was seated on my mechanics stool adjusting the valves on my '92 FJ ABS I reached up with a wrench or screw driver to place it in the vacant seat area. I put the metal tool across the battery pols and caused a big spark.  Recently, after getting the carbs back on  I discovered I have no spark.   I have Accel coils and wires installed. I've checked a few things:
1) the battery seems OK and turns the starter
          2) the starter cranks the engine
          3) the RUN switch works
          4) the side stand switch works
           5) the fuses are all OK
           6)  the key works
Do I really need to heat up the coils with a hairdryer prior to doing a continuity test?   Is the Clymer manual correct in saying that the Electronic ignition unit cannot be tested?   Sorry about the truncated message and thanks in advance for your help.

Have you checked fuses?

Is there power to the coils?

Also, try jumping the negative terminal on the battery to somewhere on the subframe - bad ground will cause no spark.

JP,

Thanks for the quick response to  my incomplete post--I sent it off by accident.

Yes I did check all the fuses. They're OK.  I'll try your suggestion.
