Bought it off ebay but no year was listed.

Other parts off the bike have "90 FZR1000" written on them in paint pen.

However, the size marking is on the rim like the the 18" FZR1000 rims (markings on the rims, not the spokes). All I can find for 17X5.50 rims is markings on the spokes.

All the 1990 rims I can find in pictures have the markings on the spokes.

I'm thinking I've got an 89 FZR1000 rim, but can't find any pictures of one to confirm it.

Anyone know what I've got on my hands here?

I know it's not 88 and down, that would be an 18". Thing thats throwing me is all the later ones seem to have the rim markings on the spokes.

I only paid 35 bucks off ebay, so no worries on money lost.

Don't have it here yet. Still in shipping.

I'm guessing by "axial" you mean "axle", which is what I'm wondering.

89-90 (maybe 91) has the 20mm axle. 91+ has the larger diameter axle.

Depending on which, changes what I have to do with it to fit it on my 89 FJ12.

I'm good if it's either an 89 or 90, but those rim markings are just throwing me off.

I already know I've got some machining on the sprocket side to get it to fit. Not a problem, nor is making spacers. Lathe in the garage ready to go.

This is some of the casting on my rear wheel. 1990 FZR 1000 No casting at all on the rim, only on the spokes.
