Hmm was wondering if the top yoke off an xjr 12/13 would fit on the fj ? I know the fj forks are 41mm and the xjr's are 43mm but if the the offset is the same I could make up a bushing to take up the difference in diameters ..

I can't help you Scotty, the XJR's never came stateside, however I am curious, why?

I can understand replacing the FJ's oem 41mm stanchion tubes with stouter 43mm tubes, that's a good mod.
To use a XJR top triple and sleeve it down to 41mm seems strange.
What's special about the XJR top clamp?

Straight bars

I thought about that, but can't you put straight bars on one of your bar conversion kits?

I could see a complete front end conversion over to the XJR: Stiffer forks, bigger axle, 3.5"wide rim, cartridge forks and a front fender you can actually buy.

Why not just buy it http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/eu/products/motorcycles/sport-heritage/xjr1300.aspx?view=featurestechspecs and be done with it? It, being the bike and all the goodies, plus a choice of options that are available for the bike.

Too bad they are not available stateside.  :dash2:

Yeah as was said I want to convert to straight bars ..Ive found out the top yoke does indeed fit the fj with some shims to take up the difference in fork diameter ..also the complete xjr 12/13 front end fits straight into the fj frame  :i_am_so_happy: just need to get the cash together now  :wacko1:

Hi check out this post:

Top triple from an FZ6.  The risers on it are from an FZ1;  the FZ6 ones are black and lower.

I still have this top triple kicking around if you are interested.

A few more things from my foggy memory.  The FZ6 is also 43 mm.  As I recall when I put them in the vice an old 41 MM fork bushing took up the extra space.
