I just purchased a lo mile 1989 FJ, it had obviously sat for periods of time.  When I got the bike , I cleaned, adjusted, and lubed the chain.  There seems to be some stiff links in one section.
Can I fix that issue, or is it new chain time?
The sprockets and chain are original w/ 19k on the clock.
Thanks

19k is a good run on our chains...  plan on new chain and sprockets at the same time.    I'd recommend steel over aluminum for the sprockets.   Look for the higher or highest tension spec and you will prefer having a rivet master link.   I had the clippy link and lost it in on a rally return trip on I-40, bad news on a Sunday night in Needles CA.   And now, await a few nods of agreement and then arguments about my sanity.  :D

If you don't fix it, the bike will. Buy the best quality chain that you can afford along with a set of new sprockets. These bikes are hard on cheap chains and could possibly destroy your crankcase if it breaks.

That's what I wanted to hear guys, thanks for your advice.
I felt it slightly on my commute, but only when wearing earplugs with my helmet did I figure it out.

The (relative) quiet allowed you to think :-)
