Had an '85 FJ1100 many many years ago, went looking for another one like it recently and came across this little FJ600.

Bartered an older handgun for it, so not much invested at all. Couldn't pass it up!
Had new tires on it, registration was still valid, had been on the road just months before, but was not running at the time. Owner said the starter solenoid was bad, so it could not be started.
I started to mention push starting it, or jumping the solenoid just to see it run, but decided to keep my mouth shut and take a chance while he was in a mood to ditch it.

Had it home about an hour, hooked up a battery charger ... crossed the solenoid wires together and ... BOOM! it started!

Installed a new $12 solenoid and it now starts every time, the first time!
Had it out for a ride around the block ... its pretty fast! Had a warped front rotor and mushy forks, so I started to fix the forks and replace the rotor .... and fix the front fender while it was off ... and polish the fork brace...... and clean up the calipers since they were just hanging there ..... and so now I am busy with a bit of a restoration job!

The first of the bits have started showing up from Ebay ...

Even a lower scoop, which seems to be made out of UnUbtainium.

And so it begins!

Welcome Chuck, I can't wait to see progress pics of your work. Your FJ sounds like it is running well. It is good to see more of the 600's popping up here.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.
