Removing 90 Model Fairing a real PIA

A few of weeks ago my 1200 lost low beam. OK just replace the bulb, done it before although it was a pain to get at so, with much difficulty (due to the PO fitting a much larger horn than stock) I managed to get the bulb out but it looked ok. I checked it with a multimeter and confirmed it was good. So I got spare bulb and pugged it in and still no low beam. Hmmmm. I took a flashlight and had a close look at the socket and could see that plastic around the low beam pin slot had melted. Aha, a dodgy socket. I had some spare sockets, BUT, due to lack of space inside the fairing to do the repair meant that the fairing had to come off.
Started removing bolts and bits according to the manual but it wasn't giving me the whole story. I couldn't get the fairing free until careful checking revealed a few screws needing to come out the manual overlooked. Eventually got it off, soldered in the new socket, tested it and then put it all back together only to find I had two screws left over. Bugger. I couldn't see where these two screws had to go and I'm not keen about pulling the fairing off again so I'll leave it for the moment. I also managed to step on a plastic windshield screw and broke it.

They look like either the screws that hold the air scoops on, or there are 2 screws like those, that hold the top of the fairing on (underneath the windshield)
There is a screw on each side that holds the back corner of the fairing on (hidden behind the air scoops)

I have missed (a couple of times) installing the 2 screws that hold the instument shroud on, at where the long black fairing panels fit between the fairing and the fuel tank.
