I am looking for some rear rack options for my 90 FJ12, and just wondering who used what so i can try to decide what i want, i have the nelson riggs soft saddlebags and the big square dry bag as a tail bag, i was hoping to find a rear rack that wont get in the way of that and be big enough to tie down a medium-smallish cooler  (20 cans) and i dont want to spend ALL my money if i can help it but ive been known to do so before so i guess we will see (pics or links helpful) also if your on this side of the country i could probably fancy a nice ride to pick up something used that you have from Virginia

RPM, Randy sells a rear rack by Rentech. Looks real sharp and is in his catalogue. Big R

As I'm new to FJs and still figuring this out, I wanted to confirm: from the looking around I've done, nobody is still making racks for the fJ1100/1200 other than the Renntec rack, or the Hepco & Beck?  Is that correct?

I'd like to get hard luggage if possible, but it's looking challenging.  I thought there was a GIVI kit option?

Thanks.

The Givi Wing rack II is universal and requires a FJ specific mount kit. P/N Y204 is no longer in production by Givi. The FJowners club UK has a reproduction Y204 kit. I have never seen this kit. Word of mouth has stated that the appearance/quality my be suspect.

Hepco & Becker current makes a complete frame for all years of the FJ.

For hard luggage/saddle bags, about your only option new is Givi, or Hepco. Krauser was the OEM brand used for the optional Yamaha saddle bags. I believe they were only offered from 1988 and later.

Here is a photo of my Hepco & Becker 40L Junior Flash w/Givi knockoff E470 top box

I bought one of the OK kits....it is all stainless but is not finished...basically raw stainless.   Welds are not great but would mostly be hidden from view.

Certainly functional enough and could be polished or painted black.

I've taken the FJ-specific fitment kit off one of my bikes, and am considering how to replicate them. We have the means at the shop to make them, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it for only a few sets. There is a great deal of set-up, planning, and material involved in a full production.

I've heard a rumor that Randy at RPM may be gearing up to make some. I would not want to piss in his Oaties, if that's the case.

Check this out. It is the same a GIVI top rack. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GIVI-TOP-MOUNT-KIT-MONOKEY-Yamaha-FJ1100-FJ1200-84-93-F297-M3-/201344969700?hash=item2ee1186be4&vxp=mtr

Something to consider if all you need is a top box or platform to attach a box to .

Thanks everyone.  I had seen that listing Movenon, but somehow forgot about it.  I'll probably end up buying that, although someone local has this rack for sale that came off an FJ1100 (I think).  I'm having him email me the distance between the two mounting holes, but maybe someone here knows what this distance should be?
