Ok, let's see how you incorporated the bug shields on your fork brace.

Fork gators were cool. Remember those? The rubber bellows over the stanchion tubes? Keeps all the bugs and shit out of your fork seals. Keeps the stanchion tubes smooth and free of rock nicks.
Yea, they worked. Too bad they are out of style. I wonder how long 'till they come back in style?
My dad would say, "The classics always come back".

In lieu of fork gators, do any of you creative folks have any pictures you can share showing how you incorporated a bug shield while using a RPM fork brace?

Remember the Superbrace brand fork brace? They had some small half circle bug shields.

Here's why you go to FJ Rally's.... At the recent Central rally, I saw a cool solution Aviation Fred came up with incorporating a rock/bug shield and a RPM fork brace (I think it was a RPM brace) I hope Fred is the first responder. You guys gotta see Fred's bike in person...it's trick.

Remember, pictures are good.

I remember someone posting not that long ago, that they were able to find some outer fork dust seals, that had molded-in bug deflectors on them.  :scratch_one-s_head:

Doing a quick search, I guess it was Fred that posted about them.

Here is the eBay link to where i found the Bug/Rock shields. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271444996062?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT#ht_0wt_0

I can not vouch for the fork seals, as I have not installed the included set. I have installed the bug shields and they work extremely well. The RPM fork brace installation has no effect on the bug shields.

I saw a nice set of fork tube protectors at work this morning on a Harley.
It was a bright pink pushup bra attached around tubes,,,,,priceless.

Thanks Alan, I somehow missed Fred's original post back in March.

Yea, Fred, those are the ticket. A very clean design.  Well done.

Those caps (including brace) should be on all FJ's. I would stay with the Yamaha oem oil seals.

Thanks again!
