Hey.

After cleaning the shed, I was sitting there staring at the bike (almost as good as riding it), and decided that the engine looked a bit bland with the heads painted all black. So out came the wet/dry sanding paper and hey presto different looking bike.

Edit -sorry about the sideways pic, the computer wanted to have a heart attack halfway though doing the post. Gave it some CPR and myself an American Honey Bourbon and all is good with the world now.

Yes, sanding the paint of the end of the cooling fins really makes a difference. I will soon be doing that to the engine for `90 FJ #1. Poor thing has been out-of-service for quite a long time.

I've found that the "wishing" method of maintenance is not very effective.
