After a few months getting all the nessessary bits together, I finally fitted the gixxer wheel. Word of warning to anyone thinking of doing this, make sure you get EVERYTHING included in the deal when buying the wheel, as it works out very expensive buying all the parts otherwise. All up cost for me was $954.00 :shok: anyway, you live and learn. As anyone who has done it, it's straight forward and now I have access to all the sticky radial tyres.

Because it's only a 4.5 inch rim, the biggest tyre I could go is a 170/60/17 which isn't much wider than standard, but still looks ok.

Just have to mount the torque arm to the foot peg bolt, bleed the brakes, then enjoy.

The bike looks a lot better in my opinion with the gixxer wheel, it really suits it.

Looks great , you will notice a difference in handling corners and it will inspire confidence to get down low.

Although frowned upon by some , you can put a 180 on that wheel ..   Kinda like" what do you mean I can't do that ? I've had it that way for years."

A 180!!! really. As it was the tyre bloke was saying, you know mate, it really should be a 160, the 170 will be too pinched, but if that's want you want. I can just imagine his face if I asked for a 180.

Looking real good Tony, nice job.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.
