Has anyone swapped 1991 forks into a 1986 to permit install of 1988 FZR 1000 17 inch wheel and 4 piston blue dot calipers

Yes, it's very common. It's plug and play

You will also need some late model FJ rotors ('89-93) to fit the FZR rim
1) Free Owners Manual download: https://tinyurl.com/fmsz7hk9
2) Don't store your FJ with E10 fuel https://tinyurl.com/3cjrfct5
3) Replace your old stock rubber brake lines.
4) Important items for the '84-87 FJ's:

Yes I did
I installed the fzr1000 front forks and triple tree
i also used a 1992 fzr1000 front rim with blue dot calipers
The rotors I used are ducati monster rotors
They may be thinner then what is on the later model fj but i've had them for 3 years now with no issues

If it's not broken, fix it anyways
