I have leather riding jacket and pants that are perforated for ventilation. Cleaning the perforated sections concerned me. Yesterday I decided to use the leather wipes, my wife uses on the sofa. Do these work, jacket and pants look new. Fast and easy. Love it, wish I thought of this years ago. Sorry I didn't take before picture. I was not expecting these results. Hope this helps.

That is good news, do they work on the inside? Most of my cleaning needs are situation related, the dirt and bugs are incidental...
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

The wipes are for the incidental dirt and bugs on the outside. A bottle of mountain fresh Fabreze sprayed on the inside to get rid of the funk smell. :bye2: :drinks:

I have always had good results with Lexol leather cleaner and Lexol leather conditioner.

I'm glad I did....My Hein Gericke Pilot leather jacket saved me from some skin grafts on my last low side accident.

Hein Gericke Pilot? Man, that's like ancient!

PS: I have a Hein Gericke Indiana in my riding wardrobe. :good2:

Very heavy Russian-industrial grade leather. Weighs a lot.

Un-cleaned. The documents said it was treated with a waterproofing, and to only use warm water to clean it.

Yea, I bought it in '84....it was a good companion. Got a bit small after a rainstorm but relaxed a bit after a Lexol treatment.

I'm now wearing the Tour Master Sonora vented ballistic nylon with armor in the back, shoulders and elbows. A versatile system with a rain/wind liner and insulated liner...but (even with the armor) I suspect not as effective in a sliding situation as that old Hein Gerike.....

I hope to never find out.

The people at Vanson Leather said for in between cleans, lemon pledge or similar is fine to use on leather and textile.
They said you can chuck leathers in the washing machine on gentle cycle, use woolwash or similar, dry flat in the shade on a towel or similar then treat with leather conditioner.
Works for me.

Try this in the future.

This looks like a great form of application. I ordered a canister of these wipes.

I like the preventative approach, but I think they would feel odd under the leather... On the other hand, the alternative feels funky as well....
