It's actually surprisingly easy Ken ( heh heh yeah I can say that now ). Going to Jindabyne last year we did 1070 kms first day (Bris - Wollongong ) and on the last day back we did around 840 kms (Wellington NSW - Bris ).  Just had to do it, being with others made it easier I think.
