While some in California were "enduring" 72 degree temperatures yesterday, we in the Twin Cities were dealing with temps that were half of that, which were pretty nice for around here in January.

Instead of throwing a leg over a FJ to go for a ride around one of the frozen 10,000 lakes, the SO and I decided to attend the Red Bull Crashed Ice http://www.redbull.com/en/events/1331688995186/red-bull-crashed-ice-saint-paul event in St. Paul.

Wild stuff. We part of a record crowd of 140,000 that turned out for this unique downhill, ice-cross event. Stop one on a four country event series. Those in Helsinki will have a chance to see it next month, and then it is onto Belfast, then the series finishes in Edmonton.

The start gate had a nice backdrop here in St. Paul. The top steps of the 100 year old (or so) St. Paul cathedral.

A few years ago they held one of those races in Niagara Falls. Pretty cool! Pardon the pun.
